Hunt Seat Named High Point Team With Impressive Showing on Senior Day

SOUTHBURY, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University Equestrian Hunt Seat squad was named the High Point team of the days tallying 45 points in the victory as the team honored its eight seniors this morning. Senior Cariann Johnson had an impressive day as she took first place in two events while the team took first in nine events. Johnson was also named the High Point Rider of the day.

Hunt Seat will return to action on Saturday Mar. 30 when the squad travels to the Hunt Seat Regional Championships at Connecticut College. 

Gabi Sorrentino placed third in Open Fences Section A

Senior Cariann Johnson placed first in Open Fences Section Section B

Brigitta Shepard placed first in Open Fences Section C

 

Lea Mascola placed first in Intermediate Fences as well as Michaela Fritsch.

 

Danielle Derisio placed first in Open Flat Section A

Senior Cariann Johnson placed first in Open Flat Section B

Senior Emery Smith placed 2nd in Open Flat Section C

Senior Megan Griffin placed 3rd in Open Flat Section D

Ellie Palmier placed first in Novice Fences Section B

Senior Michelle Johnson did not place in Novice Flat Section A

Senior Logan Morris placed first in Novice Flat Section B

Senior Victoria Caputo placed first in Novice Flat Section C

 

Senior Krista Hiatrides placed second in Walk Trot

Emily Scrobe placed third in Walk Trot Canter
