Three Pioneers Qualify for Zone Championships After Impressive Day at Regional Zones

GALES FERRY, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University Equestrian Hunt Seat squad completed its show at Connecticut College at the IHSA Zone Regional Championships. Three Pioneers qualified for the Zone Championships which will take place on Saturday, April 6 at Mount Holyoke College.

Junior Gabriella Sorrentino would qualify for Zone Championships in Open Fences while sophomore Lea Mascola placed first in Novice Fences and qualified for Zone Championships in Novice Fences. Adrianna Dattoli qualified for Zone Championships in the Alumni Flat and senior Gina Gramarossa qualified for Zone Championships in Novice Flat.

 

Open Fences - Gabi Sorrentino placed 1st, Brigitta Shepard 4th, Cariann Johnson 5th. Gabi Sorrentino qualified for the Zone Championship.

Intermediate Fences - Emily Spellman and Emery Smith placed 3rd and 8th

Open Flat - Cariann Johnson placed 4th 

Intermediate Flat - Emery Smith placed 4th

Novice Fences - Lea Mascola placed 1st, Michaela Fritsch placed 3rd, Gina Gramarossa placed  6th,  and Annie Bergere 8th. Mascola qualified for the Zone Championship.

Alumni Flat - Adrianna Dattoli placed 2nd and qualified for the Zone Championship.

Novice Flat - Gina Gramarossa and Gabi Sorrentino placed 1st and 8th. Gramarossa qualified for the Zone Championship.

Walk Trot - Emily Scrobe placed 3rd
