Baseball Falls to William & Mary 12-3 on the Road

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Sacred Heart University baseball team fell to William & Mary 12-3 on the road Sunday afternoon.

Anthony Porrino went 2-for-3 with three RBI's on the afternoon. Elijah Brown was the only other Pioneer to record a multiple hits for the Pioneers in the loss.

NOTES (William & Mary 12, SHU 3):

  • Brent Teller got the start and took the loss

  • Despite giving up five earned runs, Teller recorded a game-high six strikeouts in the outing

  • Anthony Porrino led the Pioneer offense, going 2-for-3 with a homerun and three RBI's in the loss

  • Elijah Brown went 2-for-4 in the loss

  • Stephen Thibault, Dan Fallacaro and Trevor Fagan recorded a hit apiece

  • The Tribe tallied four runs in the first three innings before SHU scored a run in the fifth

  • Anthony Porrino led the fifth inning off with a solo homerun to cut the deficit to 4-1

  • William & Mary responded by scoring four runs in the fifth and seventh inning to push its lead to 12-1

  • With runners on second and third with two out in the eighth inning, Porrino drilled a two-run double to left field
