Baseball Falls to Fairfield, 6-0

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University baseball team was shutout by Fairfield, 6-0 Tuesday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Park. With the loss, the Pioneers fall to 13-23 on the year, while the Stags improve to 24-15.

Thomas Pinto suffered the loss after giving up three runs in two innings of relief. Austin Markmann led the way for SHU with two hits on the afternoon.

  • Isiah Daubon, Danny Glendon, Anthony Porrino, Danny Glendon and Noah Centeno tallied a hit apiece in the loss

  • Fairfield broke the scoreless tie in the fifth after tallying three runs in the inning

  • The Stags added two runs in the eighth to extend their lead to 5-0

  • Fairfield was able to plate a run in the ninth and held on for the 6-0 win
