Justin Jordan Goes 5-for-5 in Baseball's 9-3 Win at LIU Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University baseball team defeated NEC-foe LIU Brooklyn, 9-3 on the road Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Pioneers improve to 16-24 on the year and 8-7 in NEC-play, while the Blackbirds drop to 16-23 and 8-10 in the NEC.

Baylor Sundahl earned the win after giving up one run, no hits and striking out nine in 5.1 innings of work. The Pioneers had four different players drive in two runs, including Justin Jordan, who went 5-for-5 in the win.

  • Baylor Sundahl earned the win after giving up one run, no hits and striking out nine in 5.1 innings of work

  • Austin Markmann went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run

  • The Pioneers cut it to 2-1 after Danny Glendon delivered on an RBI single up the middle in the third inning

  • Jordan followed with a two-run double to give SHU a 3-2 lead

  • With SHU leading 4-2 in the sixth, Markmann launched a two-run homer right to give the Pioneers a 6-2 lead

  • Leading 6-3 in the seventh, Frasca reached on a fielder's choice, allowing Jordan to score

  • SHU went up 9-3 after Daubon drilled a two-run double to right in the seventh
