Saptak Talwar Leads the Field After Day One at NEC Men's Golf Championships

DAYTONA BEACH, FL–– The Sacred Heart men's golf team concluded Day 1 play in second place out of nine teams at the NEC men's Championship. The team shot +14 to finish with a 302 team score on the 72-par course. Of the 45 competitors, Sacred Heart had three players finish in the top 15, with Saptak Talwar leading the field. Robert Morris holds the top spot with a +12 and 300 team score.

Talwar leads the field and Pioneers after shooting a 71 for -1 in the first round. Alex Manner shot a +3 to finish tied for eighth. The Pioneer shot a 75 in round 1.
Hector Gutierrez rounded out the top-15 for SHU competitors as he tied for 11th after round one. Gutierrez shot +4 in the round for a 76.

Clifford Lindholm finished tied for 23rd. The Pioneer shot 8-over par to finish with an 80 total. Nathan Kim round out the group, as he finished tied for 27th. The first-year shot 9-over par to finish with 81 in round 1.
