Men's Golf Moves into Tie for First After Day Two of NEC Championships

DAYTONA BEACH, FL–– The Sacred Heart men's golf team finished tied for first out of nine teams at Day two of the NEC Men's Championship tournament. The team shot 302 in round one and 299 in round two to finish with a team score of 601, tying the Pioneers with Robert Morris for the tournament lead. The Pioneers had three competitors finish in the top-10.

Sophomore Saptak Talwar maintained his first place standing out of 45 competitors after day two. The Pioneer shot 1-over par for a total score of 144. In round one Talwar shot 71, and in round two shot a 73.

Hector Gutierrez also finished in the top ten, as he was sits in 7th. Gutierrez sits at 5-over par, with a 76 in round one and bouncing back with a 73 in round two.

Clifford Lindholm rounded out the top ten for the Pioneers. Lindholm tied for 10th shooting +1 in round two for a total score of 153.

Alex Manner and Nathan Kim finished tied for 16th and tied for 33rd respectively. Manner shot +5 while Kim shot +9.

The Pioneers wrap up the NEC Championship on Sunday, April 28th.
