Men's Golf Closes the NEC Championships in Third Place

DAYTONA BEACH, FL- In their final tournament of the season, the Sacred Heart men's golf team finished third at the NEC Championship Tournament. The team shot +27 for a total of 221. After finishing second on day one,  the Pioneers moved up to first place on day two. The Pioneers looked to knock Robert Morris out of first place, but came up short after the third and final day.

The team had two competitors place in the top-10, with Saptak Talwar's fourth place finish leading the squad. Talwar led after the first two days, shooting 71 and 73 respectively. However, after shooting a 77 in the final day,  Talwar finished the tournament shooting 5-over par for a total score of 221.

Hector Gutierrez followed tied for ninth place of 45 golfers. The Pioneer shot a 76 in round one and an even better 73 in round two. The Pioneer finished the tournament shooting a 79 in round three to finish 12-over par.

Clifford Lindholm finished the competition tied for 18th. Lindholm shot a 80 in round three to finish 17-over par with a total score of 233.

Alex Manner and Nathan Kim round out the group finishing 29th and tied for 32nd respectively. Manner posted a +11 for a total score of 238. Kim finished 25-over par with a total score of 241.
