Tuttle, who became the first player in program history to earn All-American honors with an honorable mention nod in 2018, adds another prestigious award to an illustrious career. This award comes on the heels of Tuttle being named to the 2019 Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American Second Team.
The midfielder has played a massive role in the Pioneers' 11th-ranked scoring offense in the country, averaging 13.20 goals per game while owning a 5-5 record on the season. Tuttle has racked up 37 points (26 goals, 11 assists) through 10 games this season which ranks Top 10 in the nation in terms of midfielder scoring numbers. He also leads the team in man-up goals (three), ground balls (42), shots (97) and shots-on-goal (59).
Tuttle's all-around scoring numbers rank high on the all-time list at SHU as he currently sits third behind Dave Root '96 (194) and teammate Joe Saggese (180) with 177 career points. His 121 career goals rank second all-time while he sits fourth with 56 career assists. Tuttle is just nine goals away from setting a new all-time goal record at SHU.
Tuttle and the Pioneers are back in action on Saturday with a Noon start at perennial league power Bryant. SHU is in search of their first-ever victory over the Bulldogs and need a win as the Pioneers own a 1-2 league record midway through league play.
