Saggese Named To USILA North-South Game

Sacred Heart University all-time leading scorer Joe Saggese added a selection to the USILA North-South All-Star game to his resume on Wednesday. Saggese was named to the North squad for the Division I/II game, to be played Friday, May 24 at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md., at 7:30 p.m. Admission to the game is free of charge and it will be streamed live on Lax Sports Network.

Saggese, the NEC's Offensive Player of the Year, was named All-New England Second Team nod at the attack last week following a monster statistical campaign. He broke the NEC single-season and SHU's Division I single-season points record with 74 (44 goals, 30 assists) in 15 games throughout 2019. A record-breaking 2019 season saw Saggese become SHU's all-time leader in career points (205) while his 74 points topped the program's record board for single-season points in the program's Division I era.

Saggese's 4.93 points per game ranks ninth in the nation while he sat 17th in goals per game (2.93) and 24th in assists per game (2.00). Saggese went for at least five points in 8-of-15 games and tied the SHU Division I single-game record with a career-high eight points (three goals, five assists) in a home win over Binghamton.
