Navarro scores while SHU falls to Saint Joseph's 4-1

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team (1-2-1 overall, 0-0 NEC) fell to Saint Joseph's (3-2 overall, 0-0 A10)  tonight 4-1. Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week Segundo Navarro continued his strong play as she scored the Pioneer lone game in the game. The team returns to action on Wednesday Sept. 12 when the travel to New Jersey to face Saint Peter's. Game-time is set for 4:00 p.m. 

Oscar Curras would take the first shot of the game as he took a shot right on goal at 3:06 but was just saved by the goalie to keep the game scoreless. Then the Pioneers would fire off three shots before Saint Joseph's would even attempt one. Two were taken by Riley Sullivan but the shots went either high or wide. SHU would get on the board first at 35:26 as freshman Segundo Navarro would launch a shot passed the goalie to put the Pioneers ahead 1-0. SHU's defense would hold off the Hawks offense as they did not allow a single goal in the first half. 

Saint Joseph's would begin the second half by tying up the score at one as Alvin Dahn would find the back of the net at 52:34. Just four minutes later the Hawks would add another goal to score to take a 2-1 lead at 58:20. The Hawks would tally two more goals in the second half to close the game with Saint Joseph's winning 4-1.
