Second Half Scoring by Robert Morris Leads to 3-1 Victory Over SHU

FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University Men's Soccer team fell to Robert Morris this afternoon by a score of 3-1. The team returns to action on Friday, Oct. 5 when they begin a three game road stand beginning at Mount St. Mary's. Game-time is set for 7:00 p.m. 

Robert Morris would score the opening goal of the game half way into the first half as Guilherme Fanck scored a goal off a penalty kick to put the Colonials ahead 1-0 at 19:37. Just four minutes later the Pioneers would come back to tie the game up as Thomas Santilli would score his first goal of the season off an assist by Zander Hyltoft to make the score 1-1 at 23:01. Both teams would fire off more shots after the Santilli goal as SHU edged the Colonials in the first half in shots eight to five. No more goals would occur in the first to keep the score 1-1 heading into the second half. 

The Colonials would kick off the second half with an early goal by Zac Sherman at 48:05 to put the Colonials ahead 2-1. Anthony Costa Jr. would right after attempt two quick shots at 49:01 but one would be blocked while the other would be saved. Then at 58:56 Santilli would attempt to score his second goal of the game but would be saved keeping the score 2-1 in favor of Rober Morris. The Colonials would tack on one more goal at 79:30 courtesy of Owen Pierce to eventually seal the win Robert Morris as the final score would be 3-1.
