SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Sacred Heart men's cross country team competed at its second meet of the season on Saturday, running 10th overall at the Nassaney Invitational, hosted by Bryant. The Pioneers finished the 8K race with 282 points, finishing between host Bryant and Fairleigh Dickinson. Central Connecticut and Wagner also represented the Northeast Conference at the meet.
- Senior Dane Krchnavy led the Pioneers with a time of 26:33.0, finishing 38th overall. First-year Corey Picard was next in 60th (27:28.3), followed by Moetiz Shilleh (27:51.0), Ryan Corbett (28:20.5) and Scott Curtis (29:18.1).
- Jake Tavernite (29:27.1) and Christopher Gillis (29:27.3) rounded out SHU's top seven.
- Thomas Lawless (29:28.0), Aidan Tucker (29:31.7), Joshua Hadity (29:31.8), Justin Klotz (29:57.1) and Sean Murray (29:59.9) also competed for Sacred Heart.
Next up, the Pioneers will compete on Sept. 22 at the Ted Owen Invitational at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, hosted by CCSU. Start time is set for 11 a.m.
