DAYTONA BEACH, Fl.— The Sacred Heart University women's golf team remains in second place after round two of the Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championship on Saturday. Junior Chelsea Sedlar paces the field after carding a two-under par 71 in round two.
Sedlar moved eight spots up the leaderboard with the top score of the second round by four strokes. She posted three birdies on the day to negate three bogeys and recorded the lone eagle of the championship on the par four 13th hole. Sedlar posted a three-under back nine to move into the lead by one stroke at eight over par.
Senior Abigail Hood finished round two tied for fourth after an eight-over par 81 to sit 13-over par through 36 holes. Classmates Alejandra Perez and Lauren Pelster sit tied for 15th at 21-over par after carding rounds of 87 and 83 respectively. Sophomore Ana Contreras finished the day with a 17-over 90 to sit tied for 24th.
The Pioneers carded a second-round score of 322 in round two for a 36-hole score of 63-over par, 13 strokes back of first-place Fairleigh Dickinson with. LIU Brooklyn is third with a score of 79-over par.
SHU concludes the tournament Sunday morning with the third and final round.
