FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's golf team had two members represented on the 2017-18 All-NEC teams announced by the Northeast Conference on Friday. Junior Chelsea Sedlar garnered All-NEC First Team honors for the third straight season while senior Abigail Hood earned her third All-NEC Second Team honors.
Sedlar posted a scoring average of 77.8 in her junior season with the Pioneers en route to All-NEC First Team honors. She finished the year with six top-five finishes including an event win at the Hartford Hawks Fall Invitational. In the spring slate, she posted five top-10 finishes including ending the year with three straight top-five spots. Sedlar finished the year with a third-place finish at the NEC Championships, posting a two-under par 71 in round two at LPGA International.
Hood claimed her second straight All-NEC second team honor in her final campaign at SHU. She posted four top-10 finishes including three in the top-five with a scoring average of 81.1. Hood recorded a two-round score of 153 to tie for fourth at the Lonnie Barton Invitational. She capped her career with her third career top-five finish at the NEC Championships finishing tied for fourth overall.
The Pioneers finished the 2017-18 season in second place at the Northeast Conference Championships.
