  • Four Teams Tabbed NEC Sportsmanship Awards

    The Northeast Conference announced the Sacred Heart University bowling team earned the 2018 Winter Sportsmanship award for its sport, while the softball, women’s golf and women’s tennis teams were announced as the winners of the 2019 Northeast Conference Spring Team Sportsmanship Award for their respective sports Thursday afternoon.
  • Three Members of Women's Golf Earn All-NEC Honors

    FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's golf team had three members represented on the 2018-19 All-NEC teams announced by the Northeast Conference on Wednesday. Senior Chelsea Sedlar garnered All-NEC First Team honors for the fourth straight season, while freshman Hana Bowman also earned First Team honors. Ana Contreras rounded out the group by being named to the All-NEC Second Team.

  • Women's Golf Closes NEC Championships in Second Place

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL- In their final tournament of the season, the Sacred Heart women’s golf team finished second at the NEC women’s golf tournament. The team shot +77 for a total of 941. After finishing third on Day 1 the Pioneers moved up to second place on Day 2. The Pioneers looked to knock Fairleigh Dickinson out of first place, but came up short after the third and final day.

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL–– The Sacred Heart women’s golf team finished second out of five teams at Day two of the NEC Women’s Championship tournament. The team shot 321 in round one and 311 in round two to finish with a team score of 632. The Pioneers had three competitors finish in the top-10.
  • Women's Golf Sits in Third After Day One at NEC Championships

    DAYTONA BEACH, FL–– The Sacred Heart women’s golf team concluded Day 1 play in third place out of five teams at the NEC Women’s Championship. The team shot +33 to finish with a 321 team score on the 72-par course. Of the 30 competitors, Sacred Heart had two players finish in the top 10. Fairleigh Dickinson holds the top spot with a +18 and 306 team score.
  • Hana Bowman Named NEC Women's Golfer of the Week

    FAIRFIELD, Conn.— Sacred Heart University women's golf freshman Hana Bowman was named the NEC Women’s Golfer of the week, as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. The honor is the first of the season for Bowman after finishing in second at the SHU Spring Invite.
  • Women's Golf Takes First Place at SHU Spring Invite

    MILFORD, Conn. –– The Sacred Heart University women’s golf team took first place at the SHU Invitational, besting six other teams at the Great River Golf Club. The team finished with a score of +45 and 621 overall. Hana Bowman led the Pioneers, finishing 2nd out of 42 competitors. Bowman finished 3-over par, with a final score of 147 and shot a 2-under in the second round round.

    ST. AUGUSTINE, FL–– The Sacred Heart University women’s golf team finished 5th out of 13 teams at the Lonnie Barton Invitational. The team finished with a score of +64 and 640 overall. Ana Contreras led the Pioneers, finishing 5th out of 82 competitors. Contreras finished 8-over par and shot a 76 in both rounds.

    FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart women's golf team was selected second in the Northeast Conference preseason coaches poll announced by the conference office on Tuesday. The Pioneers ended the fall by finishing in second place at the SHU invite. Last season SHU finished in second at the NEC Championships at LPGA International Hills Course.

    MILFORD, Conn. — The Sacred Heart University women's golf team concluded its Fall season, finishing second of six teams at the SHU Fall Classic on Monday afternoon at the Great River Golf Club. All Pioneer seven golfers, including Maya Isom who competed as an individual, finished in the top-20 out of 31 individuals at the invitational. As a team, SHU finished 79-over par and a 655 total. Hofstra took the crown, finishing 76-over par and an 652 total.

    INDIVIDUAL RESULTS | TEAM RESULTS NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Sacred Heart University women's golf team concluded its play at the Yale Women’s Invite, hosted by Yale, finishing 15th out of 17 teams on Sunday. The Pioneers finished with a team score of +122 and a 974 total. Boston College won the tournament, finishing 38-over par and a 890 total.

    BLOOMFIELD, Conn. — The Sacred Heart University women's golf team concluded its play at the Hartford Fall Invitational, finishing 4th out of eight teams on Sunday. The Pioneers finished with a team score of +78 and a 638 total. Host Hartford won the invitational, finishing +42 and a 602 total.

    CANTON, Mass. — The Sacred Heart University women's golf team concluded its play at the Boston College Intercollegiate, finishing 15th out of 17 teams on Tuesday. The Pioneers finished with a team score of +109 and a 973 total. Western Kentucky won the invitational, finishing +47 and a 911 total.

    HANOVER, N.H.. — The Sacred Heart University women's golf team concluded its play at the Dartmouth Invitational, finishing 12 out of 15 teams on Sunday. The Pioneers finished with a team score of +55 and a 631 total. University of Albany won the invitational, finishing +4 and a 580 total. Ana Contreras led the way for the Pioneers, finishing tied for 23rd out of 80 competitors, shooting 7-over par. Contreras shot best in the second round as she shot a an even 72.
