Women's Golf Tabbed Second in NEC Preseason Poll

FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart women's golf team was selected second in the Northeast Conference preseason coaches poll announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The Pioneers ended the fall by finishing in second place at the SHU invite. Last season SHU finished in second at the NEC Championships at LPGA International Hills Course.

Sedlar, a three-time All-NEC first team selection returns to lead the Pioneers scoring group after finishing third in last season's NEC Championships. She has had a strong fall campaign earning two top-10 finishes in four competitions.

Junior Ana Contreras and grad Lauren Pelster also return to the SHU lineup after posting a scoring average of 81.9 and 83.1 respectively. Contreras finished 25th in the last season's NEC Championships, while Pelster finished in 17th.

Fairleigh Dickinson was picked to finish first by the league's coaches, garnering five first-place votes. SHU was selected to finish second, with one first-place vote. LIU Brooklyn rounded out the top three, with St. Francis U. coming in fourth and also earned one first-place vote.

Wagner was tabbed fifth, while Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis Brooklyn rounded out the poll.
