FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's golf team had three members represented on the 2018-19 All-NEC teams announced by the Northeast Conference on Wednesday. Senior Chelsea Sedlar garnered All-NEC First Team honors for the fourth straight season, while freshman Hana Bowman also earned First Team honors. Ana Contreras rounded out the group by being named to the All-NEC Second Team.
Sedlar posted a scoring average of 76.56 in her senior season campaign with the Pioneers en route to All-NEC First Team honors. She finished the year with four top-10 finishes including a sixth place finish at the SHU Fall Classic. In the spring slate, she closed the season with back-to-back top-three finishes, including a third-place finish at the NEC Championships, posting a two-over par 72 in round two at LPGA International.
Bowman averaged a scoring average of 77.64 in her first year as a Pioneer to earn All-NEC First Team honors. Bowman finished the season with three top-five finishes, including a fifth place finish at the SHU Fall Classic. Bowman closed her freshman campaign in strong fashion with back-to-back top-two finishes, including a second-place finish at the NEC Championships, posting a three-over par 72 in the final round.
Contreras was named to the All-NEC Second Team after posting a scoring average of 78.25 as a junior. Contreras finished the season with four top-10 finishes, with her best finish being a fourth-place finish at the SHU Fall Classic. Contreras closed the season with a sixth-place finish at the NEC Championships.
The Pioneers finished the 2018-19 season in second place at the Northeast Conference Championships.
