SOMERSET, N.J.- Sacred Heart University Women's Soccer first-year Azria Malloy was named Northeast Conference Co-Player and Rookie of the Week for her impressive two games this past weekend. This is the second time this season she has received Rookie of the Week honors and first time being named Player of the Week.
Malloy tallied two goals over the weekend including the game winner with 41 seconds remaining in the second half against St. Francis Brookyln to propel the Pioneers to a 1-0 victory and to improve to 2-0-1 in NEC play. She currently is second on team in goals this season with three on the year. She tallied the teams opening goal against Wagner on Saturday, Sept. 27 which led to a 2-2 tie with the Seahawks. Malloy is also second on team in points this season with seven in her first collegiate year.
The Pioneers will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 6 when SHU hosts NEC rival Fairleigh Dickinson at Park Ave Field. Kick-off is set for 12:00 p.m.
