Women's Tennis Concludes Day Two at Army Invite

WEST POINT, N.Y.- The Sacred Heart University Women's Tennis team concluded the second and final day of play for the Pioneers this afternoon at the Army Invite. SHU will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 5 when the Pioneers travel to face in-state rival Quinnipiac. Matches begin at 4:00 p.m.

Freshman Vitalina Golod was able to defeat Lehigh's Sibel Can in the round of 16 in B singles 7-6 (4), 1-6, 10-5 before falling to Katherine Muzik of Rutgers 6-3, 6-2 in the round of eight. Junior Kiera Tobia would defeat Army's Bridget Mayfield 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 in the round of 16 in E singles before falling to Marist's Sam Galu 8-3 in the round of eight. 

In consolation play, junior Lauren Santarsiero was able to defeat Binghamton's Lau 8-1 in D Cons before falling to Colgate's Wolf 8-0 in the round of eight.
